Introduction

Pharmacology as the core subject to all specialization. It deals with the study of action of drugs in the human body (patients). It focuses on the learner along with the teacher. It provides the methodology to all subjects about teaching-learning for the effective and efficient outcome. In our college, the pharmacology as a subject is taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level. This provides an opportunity for the students to get acquainted with the concept, nature, scope and clinical importance of pharmacology.

Our Mission

To provide a dynamic and diverse academic environment that fosters innovative, ground-breaking learning in general pharmacology and therapeutics, promote strong evidence-based teaching and training for our students.

To inculcate the students with ideas of ethical practice and holistic approach of drug therapy during clinical practice.

To provide research insights to integrate the acquired scientific knowledge with practical skill sets in biomedical research.

Our Vision

To educate the students with strong knowledge in General pharmacology and scientific basis of therapeutics application, with the ultimate goal of improving human health.

We impart knowledge with systemic approach from basic principle to in-depth mechanism of drug action, clinical significance of pharmacotherapeutics and adverse drug reaction.

~ Who We Are?

Profile

Department of Pharmacology deals with teaching and learning facilities for both BDS and MDS courses. The department includes of 3 teaching faculties and one non-teaching staffs.  The two main areas of pharmacology are pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Pharmacodynamics studies the effects of a drug on biological systems, and pharmacokinetics studies the effects of biological systems on a drug. In broad terms, pharmacodynamics discusses the chemicals with biological receptors, and pharmacokinetics discusses the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) of chemicals from the biological systems.
